The Toronto Blue Jays have agreed to terms with UTIL Isiah Kiner-Falefa on a two-year contract (US $15,000,000).
Kiner-Falefa, 28, appeared in 115 games for the Yankees in 2023, hitting .242 with 19 extra-base hits and 37 RBI. The Honolulu, HI, native was selected in the 4th round of the 2013 First-Year Player Draft by the Rangers, eventually making his Major League debut with the team in 2018. Over the course of 649 career big league games, the 5-11, 190 lb. right-handed hitter owns a .261 batting average with 127 extra-base hits, 203 RBI, and 74 stolen bases. The utilityman has appeared at every position defensively except for first base in his six-year Major League career, including pitching on four occasions in 2023. His defensive skill set earned Kiner-Falefa a Gold Glove Award at third base with the Rangers in 2020.
