The Toronto Blue Jays have agreed to terms with RHP Kevin Gausman on a five-year contract (US $110,000,000).
Gausman, 30, was named to his first All-Star team in 2021 as he established career-best marks with 14 wins, a 2.81 ERA, 227 strikeouts, and 192.0 innings pitched for the San Francisco Giants. The 6-2, 190 lb. right-hander tied for first in the National League with 33 games started while ranking fourth in strikeouts, fifth in innings, and sixth in earned run average. The Louisiana State University starter was selected fourth overall by the Baltimore Orioles in 2012 and made his Major League debut with them on May 23, 2013, at Rogers Centre. Gausman has pitched in 236 games over nine big league seasons, going 64-72 with a 4.02 ERA and a 1.28 WHIP.
