OAKLAND, Calif. – The Oakland A’s reinstated right-handed pitcher Frankie Montas from the restricted list, the club announced today. To clear a spot on the roster, left-handed pitcher Sam Moll was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas following the game Sunday.
Moll was recalled from Las Vegas when Montas went on the restricted list on Friday and pitched on Sunday at Toronto, tossing 2.0 scoreless innings (1 h, 1 bb, 2 so). He did not allow a run in 4.2 innings in four games over two stints with Oakland. Moll is 1-1 with two saves and a 4.45 ERA in 31 relief appearances with Las Vegas and Reno.
