A’s place OF Piscotty on injured list; recall OF Brown from Las Vegas

OAKLAND, Calif. – The Oakland A’s placed outfielder Stephen Piscotty on the 10-day injured list with a sprained left wrist and recalled outfielder Seth Brown from Triple-A Las Vegas, the club announced today.

 

Piscotty was batting .220 with five home runs and 16 RBI in 72 games with Oakland and is on the injured list for the second time this year. He was previously out from June 17 to July 3 with a sprained left wrist and had played in just 12 of the A’s 38 games since he was reinstated. Piscotty was 8-for-19 (.421) over his last 12 games.

 

Brown joins the A’s for the third time this year and is batting .205 with 16 home runs and 37 RBI in 91 games with Oakland. He hit .199 with 12 home runs and 30 RBI in 79 games during his first stint from April 6 to July 31. Brown returned to Oakland on Aug. 6 and went 8-for-33 (.242) with four home runs and seven RBI in 12 games before he was optioned to Las Vegas yesterday when Pinder was reinstated from the IL. He has made 56 of his 57 starts in games in which the opponent starts a right-handed pitcher and is 4-for-19 (.211) with a double, home run and four RBI as a pinch hitter.
