Revolution goalkeeper will look to build on 9-1-2 record with USMNT in qualifiers against Mexico and Jamaica

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Revolution goalkeeper Matt Turner has been called in to the United States Men’s National Team for two 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifying matches in November. Turner will join the United States for matches against Mexico in Cincinnati, Ohio on Friday, November 12 (9:00 p.m. ET – ESPN2, TUDN, Univision) and away in Jamaica on Tuesday, November 16 (6:00 p.m. ET – Paramount+).

Turner’s latest action with the United States came in October with two starts in FIFA World Cup Qualifying matches. Turner backstopped the Stars and Stripes to a 2-0 victory over Jamaica on Oct. 7 before making three saves in a 1-0 defeat at Panama on Oct. 10. In September, Turner started the first three games for the U.S. Men’s National Team in Concacaf’s final round of FIFA World Cup Qualifying. Turner established himself on the international stage as the Best Goalkeeper at the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup. Through 12 matches in his international career, he owns a 9-1-2 record with seven clean sheets.

The Park Ridge, N.J. native and 2021 MLS All-Star has led the Revolution to an 17-3-7 record in 27 starts this season, his sixth as a pro. Turner was instrumental in helping the club’s secure its first Supporters’ Shield title and set a single-season MLS record with 73 points to date. With an unbeaten 11-0-2 mark at Gillette Stadium, Turner’s 17 wins this season are a new career high and club record.

Turner is not expected to miss MLS action as New England will conclude its record-setting regular season on Sunday, Nov. 7 against Inter Miami CF at Gillette Stadium (3:30 p.m. ET – TV38, myRITV, CoziTV, 98.5 The Sports Hub HD2, 1260 AM Nossa Radio).
