CLEVELAND – Prior to today’s series finale at Cleveland, the Chicago White Sox placed outfielder Brian Goodwin on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to September 24) with lower back spasms and recalled right-handed pitcher Matt Foster from Class AAA Charlotte.
Foster, 26, served as the 29th player for Thursday’s doubleheader at the Indians. He is 2-1 with a 6.32 ERA (26 ER/37.0 IP), one save, two holds and 40 strikeouts in 34 relief appearances over five stints with the White Sox this season.
Goodwin, 30, is hitting .221 (52-235) with 10 doubles, eight home runs, 29 RBI and 33 runs scored in 72 games (64 starts) with Chicago in 2021.
