* Sebastian Aho factored on three of the Hurricanes’ team record-tying nine goals in his final game before heading home for the 2026 NHL Global Series Finland.
* A handful of stars, with significant ties to the incoming Hockey Hall of Fame class, produced impactful moments during a 12-game Saturday including Sidney Crosby, who moved into sixth place on the NHL’s all-time points list.
* Anaheim’s goal-scoring ways have been on full display in their past seven games. The Ducks return to action Sunday with an opportunity to become the first team to score five or more goals in eight straight games since the 1988-89 Kings.

HURRICANES HEAD TO HELSINKI ON HEELS OF HIGH-SCORING WIN VERSUS BLACKHAWKS
Sebastian Aho (1-2—3) had a game-high three points, Jackson Blake (1-0—1) extended his career-high scoring streak to nine contests and Pyotr Kochetkov made 18 saves as the League-leading, reigning-champion Hurricanes (14-3-2, 30 points) secured a high-scoring win in their final outing before competing in the 2026 NHL Global Series Finland next week (2 GP from Nov. 12-14). Carolina’s nine goals are the League’s most by a team in its last game before playing a contest outside North America.

* Blake bested the longest point streak by his father, Jason (8 GP from Nov. 18 – Dec. 2, 2006), and has the League’s second longest entering a contest outside North America behind William Nylander’s 15-game run before playing in the 2023 NHL Global Series Sweden opener. Kochetkov extended his season-opening home winning streak to six games and improved to 11-1-0 through 12 appearances (1.67 GAA, .920 SV%, 2 SO), replicating a feat that teammate Brandon Bussi achieved during the 2025-26 campaign.
* Aho was born approximately 130 miles northwest of Helsinki in Rauma, Finland, and is set to play an NHL game in his home country for the first time in his career. Aho had his 320th career goal and needs one to tie Olli Jokinen (321) for fourth place on the League’s all-time list among Finnish players.

CLASS OF 2026 RECEIVES their RINGS AS HALL OF FAME INDUCTION WEEKEND BEGINS
Members of the Hockey Hall of Fame’s incoming class Patrice Bergeron, Brian Burke, Cindy Curley, Carey Price, Pekka Rinne and Keith Tkachuk received their custom rings as Induction Weekend got underway in Toronto on Saturday. Click here to read more.

* Sidney Crosby‘s first of two goals Saturday boosted his career totals to 659-1,113—1,772, which put him past Marcel Dionne (1,771) for sixth place on the NHL’s all-time points list. Of Crosby’s 1,773 points, 60 came against Bergeron – a player he battled against in the League from 2005-06 to 2022-23 but also shared the ice with as gold medal-winning teammates for Team Canada at the 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympics. The pair are part of the exclusive “Triple Gold Club”, a list that consists of only 30 players that have won at least one Olympic gold medal, one Stanley Cup and one World Championship gold medal.
* Jacob Fowler backstopped the Canadiens to victory in Toronto and extended his point streak to nine games (8-0-1). Fowler became the fourth Montreal netminder in the past 10 years with a run of that length, following Jakub Dobes (11 GP in 2024-25), Samuel Montembeault (10 GP in 2024-25) and Price (12 GP in 2016-17), who was the first goaltender in NHL history to win each of his first 10 appearances of a campaign that same season. Price had recently said Fowler’s game reminds him of his own.

* Steven Stamkos (1-0—1) scored one of his team’s three goals and moved into sole possession of fifth place on the League’s all-time power-play goals list, while Juuse Saros made 25 saves to backstop the Predators to victory. Saros ranks second in franchise history in career wins, behind only fellow Finn and former teammate Pekka Rinne – who is about to become the first Finnish goaltender to be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
* Matthew and Brady Tkachuk combined for five points – Matthew had three assists including the primary helper on both of Brady’s goals – in their penultimate game before their father, Keith Tkachuk, is inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. The Tkachuk brothers have factored on the same goal 14 times in their first 17 games as teammates, with one more game to play before watching their father enter the Hall. That contest is today in Boston, where Keith played one season at Boston University, not far from his hometown of Melrose, Mass., where he was drafted to the NHL out of high school. More than half of Keith’s career goals and points came after Matthew, the eldest of the Tkachuk siblings (also Taryn), was born on Dec. 11, 1997.

McDAVID CONTINUES STREAKS, 219-POINT PACE IN VICTORY VERSUS CANUCKS
Connor McDavid assisted on Mattias Ekholm’s 1-0 goal to become the sixth different player in NHL history with an 18-game season-opening point streak and factored on two third-period tallies by Leon Draisaitl (2-1—3) as the Pacific Division-leading Oilers (12-3-3, 27 points) clipped the Canucks.
* McDavid tied Adam Oates (18 GP from March 11 – April 14, 1993) for the League’s second longest assist streak at any point in a season behind only Wayne Gretzky (23 GP from Feb. 8 – March 24, 1991). McDavid recorded his 69th career three-assist game and needs two to tie Oates (71) for fourth place on the NHL’s all-time list.

NO LEAD IS SAFE IN THE THIRD AFTER LIGHTNING, DEVILS COMPLETE COMEBACKS
The Wild and Islanders each held a multi-goal lead with less than 14 minutes remaining in regulation but the Lightning’s Jake Guentzel (2-1—3), Nikita Kucherov (1-1—2) and Brayden Point (0-2—2) as well as the Devils’ Dougie Hamilton (1-0—1) and Jack Hughes (1-1—2) rose to the occasion and lifted their respective clubs to overtime victories.
* Guentzel scored Tampa Bay’s first two goals to begin their rally and Kucherov completed it with his 10th career overtime goal to give the Lightning their first multi-goal, third-period comeback win since Nov. 19, 2024. Point assisted on both Lightning goals in the third stanza to reach and surpass 700 career points – the sixth player in franchise history to reach the milestone.
* Kucherov’s first point of the night was his 100th in the regular season dating to Jan. 1, 2026. He passed Jari Kurri (7) for the most 100-point calendar years by a player born outside North America. The only other active players with at least eight are Connor McDavid (9) and Sidney Crosby (8)
.

* Nineteen-year-old Matthew Schaefer (1-0—1) gave the Islanders its second of three leads Saturday but his 33-year-old counterpart, Hamilton, eventually tied the game in the third period with his 59th career goal for New Jersey. He overtook Damon Severson (58) for fourth place on the franchise’s all-time list among defensemen.
* Hughes completed the rally with his NHL-best third overtime goal of the season as three of the Devils’ past four multi-goal, third-period comeback wins have come against Islanders (also Nov. 9, 2024 & Nov. 28, 2023). The League’s 13 multi-goal, third-period comeback wins are tied for the third most at this stage of a season in League history (276 GP), behind only 2022-23 (20) and 2019-20 (19).

SIX-GAME SUNDAY FEATURES ANNUAL HOCKEY HALL OF FAME GAME IN TORONTO
Hockey Hall of Fame Induction Weekend continues with the Maple Leafs hosting the Devils at Scotiabank Arena in their annual Hockey Hall of Fame Game, where they will celebrate the 2026 inductees Patrice Bergeron, Brian Burke, Cindy Curley, Carey Price, Pekka Rinne and Keith Tkachuk – Toronto owns an all-time record of 12-7-5 in those contests. For more on the inductees, check out our #NHLStats Pack.

* South of the border, Cutter Gauthier and the Ducks host Sidney Crosby and the Penguins at Honda Center, where they will look to become the first team since the 1988-89 Kings to score at least five goals in eight or more consecutive contests. The longest streak is 11 games, which was set by the Flyers 41 years ago.
* Gauthier has scored 27% of Anaheim’s goals over that streak (10 of 37), with all 10 of them coming in the past five games alone (since Oct. 29). He is the only player in Ducks history to net a double-digit goal total over a five-game span – a feat achieved by only 10 different players over the past 34 seasons.
