MLB 2023 ALCS Game 7 Postgame Notes

TEXAS RANGERS: Win the 2023 ALCS 4-3 and clinch the third World Series berth in franchise history (also, 2010 and 2011)…Improve to 9-3 overall in the 2023 Postseason.

• Are now 8-0 on the road in the 2023 Postseason…Tie MLB record for longest road win streak in a single Postseason, joining the 1996 Yankees and 2019 Nationals…The ‘96 Yankees are the only other team to win their first eight road games of a Postseason.
• Tonight was the first Game 7 win in franchise history…Had lost only other Game 7 in the 2011 World Series at St. Louis.
• 11 runs scored are tied for the second-most in a Game 7 all-time (Atlanta scored 15 in Game 7 of the 1996 NLCS vs. St. Louis)…Also ties for second-most runs scored in a Rangers Postseason game all-time (had 15 runs in Game 6 of the 2011 ALCS vs. Detroit).
• Stole three bases in the 1st inning tonight, which ties a franchise record for a Postseason frame (third time)…The three SB in a game are the most in any LCS Game 7 all-time.
• Game 1 of the 2023 World Series is scheduled to be played Friday night (Oct. 27) at Globe Life Field against the winner of the Phillies/Diamondbacks NLCS.
  
• 2023 ALCS: The road team won all seven games in the 2023 American League Championship Series…This is the second best-of-seven series all-time to have the road team win every game and the first ever in a LCS…The only other series to have the road team win all seven games was the 2019 World Series (Nationals/Astros)…Max Scherzer

The six game RBI streak is a Rangers Postseason record and is tied for the fourth-longest RBI streak in a single Postseason in MLB history (only longer RBI streaks are eight games by Ryan Howard (PHI) in 2009 and seven game streaks by Daniel Murphy (NYM) in 2015 and Alex Rodriguez (NYY) in 2009.
• Is the second player in Rangers Postseason history to homer in four straight games, along with Juan Gonzalez (4 straight in 1996)…The four game HR streak is tied for the fourth-longest in a single Postseason all-time, behind Daniel Murphy (6 in 2015), Giancarlo Stanton (5 in 2020) and Carlos Beltran (5 in 2004).
• Seven total home runs and 20 RBI in the 2023 Postseason lead the Majors.
• His 20 RBI are tied with Nomar Garciaparra for the most by any player in his first 12 career Postseason games.

  JORDAN MONTGOMERY: Worked 2.1 scoreless innings in relief to improve to 3-0 in the 2023 Postseason with a 2.16 ERA (25 IP – 6 ER)…First relief outing of the year (regular season or Postseason).

• YORDAN ALVAREZ: Recorded multiple hits for a sixth consecutive game, which sets a new MLB record for a single Postseason.
• JOSE ALTUVE: Hit his 27th career Postseason homer with a solo shot in the 9th inning…The 27 Postseason homers are second-most all-time, behind Manny Ramirez (29)… His 89 career Postseason runs scored are also second-most all-time, behind Derek Jeter (111).
  GAME 7: Tonight was the 20th LCS all-time to have a Game 7 since the series shifted to the best-of-seven format in 1985 and the ninth ALCS to have a seventh game (first since 2020 between the Astros and Rays).
