The Brewers (6-3) are wrapping up their second season-long 10-game trip (2-1 at CLE, 3-1 at NYM, 1-1 at PIT) and look to go 7-3 on both trips…..the team went 7-3 on a 10-game road trip from April 10-19 (1-2 at ARI, 3-1 at SD, 3-0 at SEA)…..a win today would give the team its seventh 10-game trip in franchise history with at least 7 wins.

THE PIRATES:..had their four-game winning streak come to an end yesterday…Have had five separate winning streaks of at least four games this season, including a season-high seven-game winning streak from 4/17-23…Are 5-3 in their last eight games following their season-high 10-game losing streak from 6/13-22.
ROSTER MOVE: The Pittsburgh Pirates today reinstated outfielder Bryan Reynolds from the 10-day injured list (low back inflammation)…Infielder Ji Hwan Bae has been placed on the 10-day injured list (left ankle sprain)…In addition, righthanded pitcher Wil Crowe will begin a rehab assignment today with Low-A Bradenton…Crowe is currently on the 60-day injured list with right shoulder discomfort.
HOMESTAND HIGHLIGHTS: Pittsburgh has scored 37 runs during the first five games of this homestand that began Tuesday night…The only team in MLB to score more runs
since Tuesday are the Dodgers (40)…In addition, Pittsburgh’s bullpen has posted a 1.35 ERA (20.0ip/3er) on the homestand, which is the seventh-best ERA in MLB since Tuesday.
COMING THROUGH IN THE CLUTCH: The Pirates are 24-for-56 (.429) with runners in scoring position in their last five games…The Pirates are hitting .259 with runners in scoring position this year, which ranks 11th in all of MLB after finishing 30th in the league in 2022 with a .220 average with RISP.
RICH ON THE HILL: Rich Hill gets the start this afternoon in the finale of this three-game series and six-game homestand…Hill earned his seventh win of the season after winning a 9-4 decision in his last start Tuesday against the Padres…Since allowing five runs in 5.1 innings and losing a 6-1 decision against the Rangers here at PNC Park on May 23, Hill is 3-1 with a 3.55 ERA (25.1ip/10er) in his last four starts at home.
THROWN FOR A CURVE: Rich Hill has thrown his curveball 38.4 percent of the time this season…The only three pitchers to throw that pitch at a higher percentage of the time are Drew Smyly (49.1%), Charlie Morton (44.9%) and Domingo German (41.7%).
SO LONG TO THE CENTRAL: Following today, the Pirates will play 24 straight games outside of their division before facing the Brewers again from August 3-6 at American Family Field…The August 3-6 series will begin a stretch that will have the Bucs playing 26 of their final 55 games of the regular season against their own division.
GO WEST YOUNG BUCS: The Pirates will depart for their final road trip leading up to the All-Star Game following today’s game…Pittsburgh’s first stop will take the team to Dodger Stadium for four games, where the team swept a three-game series last year from May 30 to June 1…The trip will conclude with a three-game series next weekend at Arizona…The Pirates are 12-6 overall, including 5-1 on the road, against the NL West this season.
ON-BASE MACHINE: Andrew McCutchen has a team-high 20-game on-base streak coming into today…Since McCutchen’s streak began on June 5, his .461 on-base percentage ranks second in all of MLB behind Shohei Ohtani (.495)…This is also McCutchen’s longest streak since reaching in 24 straight games from April 18-May 14, 2018.

RICH HILL: The 43-year-old lefthander is making his 17th start of the season today…He won a 9-4 decision (6.0ip/4r) in his last start Tuesday vs. San Diego.
vs. MILWAUKEE: 3-4 with a 3.96 ERA (63.2ip/28er) in 12 career appearances (11 starts)…Is 0-1 in one start this year…Walked six batters in 5.0 innings while losing a 5-4 decision (4r/3er) to Julio Teheran on 6/16 at Milwaukee.
