Prior to today’s game against the Washington Nationals, the Phillies recalled infielder Darick Hall from triple-A Lehigh Valley. To make room for Hall on the 26-man roster, infielder Kody Clemens was optioned to Lehigh Valley.

Phillies President of Baseball Operations David Dombrowski made the announcement.

Over his last eight games (5 at 1B, 3 at DH) with the IronPigs, Hall has slashed .448/.541/.655 (1.196 OPS) with four extra-base hits, five RBI, seven walks and three runs scored. Last year, Hall was the recipient of the Paul Owens Award, presented annually to the organization’s top minor league player.

Hall, 27, slashed .222/.263/.278 in six games (five starts) for the Phillies after making his first career Opening Day roster. He spent time on the injured list from April 7-June 19 with a right thumb sprain and underwent successful right thumb ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) repair with augmentation surgery on April 12.

Hall was selected by the Phillies in the 14th round of the 2016 MLB Draft.

Clemens, 27, slashed .244/.294/.394 with 11 extra-base hits, 13 RBI and 15 runs scored in 37 games as a starter for the Phillies this season. He set career highs in hits (32), doubles (7), extra-base hits and runs through 49 games, surpassing his previous marks across 57 games in 2022.

Originally selected by the Detroit Tigers in the third round of the 2018 MLB Draft, Clemens was acquired by the Phillies with left-hander Gregory Soto for infielder Nick Maton, catcher Donny Sands and outfielder Matt Vierling on Jan. 7, 2023.
