FAST AND FURIOUS: Yankees baserunners have recorded 11SB this season…marks their most stolen bases through their first seven games of a season in the last 34 years (since 1990)… marks just the third time in the last 108 years the Yankees have recorded at least 11SB through their first seven games of a season (also 11SB in 1989 and 12SB in 1969).

Marks just the eighth time in franchise history the Yankees have recorded at least 11SB through their first seven games of a season: 20SB in 1915, 14SB in 1914, 13SB in 1908, 12SB in 1910, 1912 and 1969, and 11SB in 1989 and 2023.

Their 11SB are tied with Cleveland for the second-most in the Majors, trailing only Baltimore (13SB).

ALL RISE: OF Aaron Judge owns a career-high 40-game on-base streak (since 8/29/22), batting .368/.514/.757 (50-for-136) with 37R, 8 doubles, 15HR, 26RBI, 41BB, 1HP and 4SB in that span…is the third-longest on-base streak by a Yankee in the last 19 seasons (since 2005), trailing only Luke Voit’s 42-game streak (9/19/18-5/3/19) and Mark Teixeira’s 42-game streak (6/6-7/26/10)…has reached base multiple times in 29 of those 40 games.

WHERE’S OSWALDO?: INF/OF Oswaldo Cabrera tied his career high with 3H on Friday at Baltimore and drove in three of the Yankees’ 6R…hit a go-ahead two-run double in the sixth inning and an RBI single in the eighth inning.

Has hit safely in each of his last four games with an AB, batting .467/.500/.600 (7-for-15) with 2R, 2 doubles, 3RBI, 1BB and 1SB in that span.

His 3RBI on Friday marked his second-most RBI in a game in his career (5RBI on 9/21/22 vs. Pittsburgh).

BRONX BOMBERS: Yankees batters have hit 12HR in seven games this season, tied with Atlanta (12HR in 8G) for the fourth-most in the Majors, trailing only Tampa Bay (18HR in 7G), Los Angeles-NL (16HR in 8G) and San Francisco (15HR in 7G).

Marks the 10th time in franchise history they have hit at least 12HR through their first seven games: 18HR in 1932, 17HR in 2003, 14HR in 2011 and 2020, 13HR in 1956 and 1957 and 12HR in 1999, 2015, 2018 and 2023.

BALTIMORE ORIOLES NOTES:

HOMECOMING: The Orioles defeated the Yankees yesterday, 7-6, to win their second consecutive Home Opener and first against the Yankees since 2009…Improved to 46-24 in Home Openers in club history (since 1954), including 22-10 at Oriole Park at Camden Yards and 5-4 against New York-AL (see chart at right)…The O’s have won the series opener in each of their three series this season.

WHAT’S NEXT: Yesterday’s game marked the beginning of a seven-game homestand for the O’s, their first of the season…Baltimore will play two more games against the Yankees and four against the Athletics…The O’s will then travel to Chicago to face the White Sox for three games from April 14-16, then have a scheduled off day before traveling to Washington, D.C. for two games against the Nationals from April 18-19.

AGAINST NEW YORK-AL: The O’s and Yankees are squaring off in their first series of the year…The Orioles will play a total of 13 games against the Yankees this season, including six at Oriole Park…The Orioles will travel to the Bronx for three games from May 23-25 and four from July 3-6 before hosting the Yankees once more for three games from July 28-30…Baltimore went 7-12 against New York-AL in 2022, including two series wins: April 15-17 at Oriole Park (2-1) and September 30 to October 2 at Yankee Stadium (2-1).

YOU’RE SO GOLDEN: Ramón Urías will be presented with his Rawlings Gold Glove Award by Manager Brandon Hyde prior to tonight’s game…Urías was named the recipient of the 2022 American League Gold Glove Award at third base, the first of his career…He became the first Oriole to win a Gold Glove since Manny Machado in 2015… He is just the third Orioles third baseman to ever win the award, joining Machado (2x) and Orioles Legend and National Baseball Hall of Famer Brooks Robinson (16x).

MAN-ager OF THE YEAR: Manager Brandon Hyde will be honored during a special pregame ceremony…He was named the 2022 Baseball America MLB Manager of the Year and was voted the Sporting News American League Manager of the Year by fellow AL managers…He finished second in voting for the Baseball Writers’ Association of America (BBWAA) American League Manager of the Year award…Last season, he led the O’s to an 83-79 record, his first winning season as manager and the club’s first winning campaign since 2016…He collected his 200th career managerial win on September 1 in Baltimore’s 3-0 win at Cleveland…The O’s also had a 10-game winning streak from July 3-13, their first double-digit winning streak in a single season since winning 13 straight from September 7-22, 1999.

WRAPPING UP THE ROAD TRIP: The Orioles went 3-3 in their season-opening road trip against the Red Sox (1-2) and Rangers (2-1)…They defeated the Red Sox on Opening Day, 10-9, improving their record in season openers to 45-25 overall and 13-12 on the road…The O’s dropped the next two games against Boston before winning the first two against Texas…The two wins against the Rangers increased Baltimore’s winning streak against Texas to eight games dating back to July 4, 2022, their longest winning streak against a single opponent since also winning eight in a row against the Mariners from July 3 to September 19, 2012…The O’s fell to the Rangers in Wednesday’s series finale, 5-2, snapping their streak.
