TEAM NOTES
TONIGHT’S MATCHUP
Tonight, the New York Islanders visit the Philadelphia Flyers as they return to action following their eight-day bye week and All-Star Break. It is the third of four matchups between the two clubs this season. These teams last met on November 29, 2022, when Noah Dobson found the back of the net, and Brock Nelson and Mathew Barzal tallied assists, but the Islanders fell to the Flyers, 3-1, at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. The Islanders have collected points in four of their last six matchups with the Flyers. The Islanders enter tonight’s matchup with wins in each of their last two games, and points in three of their last four Metropolitan Division matchups.

BACK-TO-BACK
Tonight, the Islanders begin their 11th of 15 back-to-back sets of games this season. They are 5-5-0 on the front-end of back-to-backs so far. The Islanders capped off the month of January in a back-to-back, as they earned victories on January 27 against Detroit, and January 28 against Vegas. It is the fourth time this season they have won consecutive games in consecutive nights, and the first time since November 25 and 26, against Columbus and Philadelphia. It was the first time that the Islanders swept a back-to-back series in which they scored two goals or fewer in each game for the first time since December 30-31, 2002, vs. Florida and in Buffalo.
