NEW YORK – Arizona Coyotes defenseman Juuso Valimaki has been fined $4,189.19, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for slashing Anaheim Ducks forward Max Jones during NHL Game No. 763 in Tempe on Tuesday, Jan. 24, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.
The incident occurred at 3:20 of the second period. Valimaki was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for slashing.
The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
