Twins place Ryan Jeffers on 10-day injured list

Caleb Hamilton contract selected from Triple-A St. Paul

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed catcher Ryan Jeffers on the 10-day Injured List with a right thumb contusion.

Jeffers has played in 60 games for the Twins this season, hitting .214 (41-for-192) with 10 doubles, seven home runs, 25 RBI, 21 walks, a .291 on-base percentage and a .375 slugging percentage.

To replace Jeffers on the 26-man roster, the Twins have selected the contract of catcher Caleb Hamilton from Triple-A St. Paul**.** Hamilton, 27, has played in 49 games for the Saints this season, hitting .252 (40-for-159) with eight doubles, 10 home runs, 35 RBI, 35 walks, a .387 on-base percentage, a .491 slugging percentage and an .878 OPS. The Kirkland, Washington native was selected by the Twins in the 23rd round of the 2016 First-Year Player Draft out of Oregon State University. He will be looking to make his major league debut and wear uniform number 90.
