Dodgers recall Zach McKinstry

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled infielder/outfielder Zach McKinstry and placed outfielder Kevin Pillar on the injured list with a left shoulder fracture.

McKinstry, 27, is on his fourth stint with the Major League team and he is 0-for-1 in two games with the Dodgers. With Triple-A Oklahoma City, he was batting .338 (51-for-151) with five doubles, two homers and 19 RBI. In three Major League seasons with the Dodgers, he has hit a combined .217 with 10 doubles, seven homers and 29 RBI. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers in 33rd round of the 2016 First Year Player Draft out of Central Michigan University.

Pillar, 33, left the game last night in the top of the sixth inning after going 1-for-1 with a double and a run scored. In three games with the Dodgers, he went 1-for-11 with a double. Prior to his call up, he hit .315 (40-for-127) with six doubles, three triples, nine homers and 34 RBI in 36 games with Oklahoma City. The former California State Dominguez Hills alum has spent parts of nine seasons in the Major Leagues with Toronto (2013-19), San Francisco (2019), Boston (2020), Colorado (2020) and New York-NL (2021), batting a combined .259 (934-for-3607) with 97 homers and 391 RBI.
