HOUSTON – Prior to tonight’s series finale at Houston, the Chicago White Sox placed right-handed pitcher Matt Foster on the Bereavement List and recalled outfielder Adam Haseley from Class AAA Charlotte.
Haseley, 26, is batting .280/.344/.482 (54-193) with 11 doubles, two triples, eight home runs, 38 RBI and 32 runs scored in 51 games with Charlotte this season. He also played in five games with the White Sox from April 20-24, going 2-10 (.200) with two walks.
Over his last 17 games with the Knights, Haseley is batting .382 (26-68) with six doubles, five home runs, 23 RBI, 17 runs scored, six stolen bases and a .721 slugging percentage. He homered twice on May 28 at Durham and May 31 vs. Memphis, including a career-high eight RBI.
Haseley was acquired from Philadelphia on March 29 in exchange for right-hander McKinley Moore. He originally was selected by the Phillies in the first round (eighth overall) of the 2017 draft out of the University of Virginia.
Foster, 27, is 1-2 with a 5.13 ERA (15 ER/26.1 IP) and 29 strikeouts over 29 relief appearances this season. He must remain on the Bereavement List for a minimum of three days and not more than seven.
