CHICAGO – Prior to today’s game vs. San Francisco, the Chicago White Sox placed outfielder Eloy Jiménez on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to April 4) with a low-grade left hamstring strain and recalled infielder Jake Burger from Class AAA Charlotte.
Jiménez, 26, is estimated to miss 2-3 weeks after suffering the injury running the bases in the seventh inning of Monday’s home opener vs. the Giants. He is 4-20 (.200) with two doubles and three RBI in five games this season.
Burger, 26, is 2-12 (.167) in three games with Charlotte this season after batting .263/.300/.491 (15-57) with four home runs and nine RBI over 23 Cactus League games. He appeared in 51 games with the White Sox in 2022, hitting .250/.302/.458 (42-168) with nine doubles, eight homers and 26 RBI.
