White Sox make four roster moves

CHICAGO – Prior to today’s series finale vs. Seattle, the Chicago White Sox made the following four roster moves:

  • Optioned INF Zach Remillard to Class AAA Charlotte
  • Designated RHP Brent Honeywell for assignment;
  • Recalled RHP Edgar Navarro and LHP Sammy Peralta from Charlotte.

Navarro, 25, made two relief appearances in his first stint with the White Sox from July 29-August 7, allowing two runs on five hits with five strikeouts over 3.0 IP.

Peralta, 25, has appeared in five games over two stints with the Sox this season, allowing two runs on three hits with five strikeouts over 4.1 IP (4.15 ERA).

Honeywell, 28, made four relief appearances with the White Sox after being claimed off waivers from San Diego on August 5.

Remillard, 29, batted .264/.315/.339 (32-121) with one home run, 16 RBI and 15 runs scored in 40 games with the Sox after his contract was selected from Charlotte on June 15.
