SEATTLE – Prior to today’s series finale at Seattle, the Chicago White Sox reinstated right-handed pitcher Michael Kopech from the 15-day injured list and optioned right-hander Matt Foster to Class AAA Charlotte. Kopech will start this afternoon’s game vs. the Mariners at T-Mobile Park.

Kopech has been on the injured list since August 23 with a left knee strain after leaving his last start on August 22 at Kansas City in the first inning. He is 4-9 with a 3.58 ERA (44 ER/110.2 IP), .199 (79-396) opponents average, .299 opponents on-base percentage and 98 strikeouts in 23 starts with the White Sox this season.

Foster is 1-2 with a 4.40 ERA (22 ER/45.0 IP), one save, five holds and 42 strikeouts over 48 relief appearances with Chicago in 2022.
