CHICAGO – Prior to today’s series finale vs. Houston, the Chicago White Sox returned infielder Jake Burger from his injury rehabilitation assignment at Class AAA Charlotte and reinstated him from the 10-day injured list, and optioned catcher Carlos Pérez to Charlotte.
Burger, who appeared in two rehab games with Charlotte, has been on the injured list since May 4 with a strained left oblique. He is hitting .224/.312/.612 (15-67) with five doubles, seven home runs and 14 RBI in 23 games this season. Burger’s seven homers rank second on the White Sox.
Pérez was 1-4 (.250) in three games with the Sox after being recalled from Charlotte on May 7. He is batting .272/.321/.553 (28-103) with five doubles, eight homers, 18 RBI, eight walks and an .874 OPS in 27 games with the Knights.
