NEW YORK – The NBA has fined the Utah Jazz $100,000 for breaching the league’s Player Participation Policy. The infraction occurred when the Jazz did not make star player Lauri Markkanen available for their game against the Washington Wizards on March 5 at Capital One Arena, as well as other recent games. The policy, implemented before the 2023-24 season, aims to ensure regular participation of players throughout the NBA season.
The NBA emphasized the importance of maintaining player availability to enhance the overall fan experience and uphold the integrity of the league’s regular season games.
