Twins select contract of Danny Coulombe

Godoy designated for release or assignment, Faria and Robertson reassigned to Triple-A St. Paul

FORT MYERS, FL – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have selected the contract of left-handed pitcher Danny Coulombe.

Coulombe, 32, has made five appearances for the Twins this spring training, pitching 5.2 scoreless innings with two hits allowed, two walks and six strikeouts. The lefty appeared in 29 games (1 start) for Minnesota during the 2021 regular season, going 3-2 with a 3.67 ERA (34.1 IP, 14 ER), seven walks and 33 strikeouts.

To make room on the 40-man roster, the Twins have designated catcher José Godoy for release or assignment. Godoy, who was claimed off waivers from the San Francisco Giants on March 17, played in seven spring training games for Minnesota, going 2-for-8 (.250) with one double, one walk and three RBI.

Additionally, the Twins have reassigned right-handed pitcher Jake Faria and infielder Daniel Robertson to Triple-A St. Paul.

The Twins now have 30 active players in camp (1 non-roster): 17 pitchers (0 non-roster), two catchers (0 non-roster), six infielders (0 non-roster) and five outfielders (1 non-roster).
