Twins place Sonny Gray on 10-day injured list

Cody Stashak returned from rehab assignment and reinstated from 10-day injured list

BOSTON, MA – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed right-handed pitcher Sonny Gray on the 10-day Injured List with a low grade right hamstring strain.

Gray, who was acquired via trade with Cincinnati during spring training, left yesterday’s game against the Boston Red Sox in the second inning, after allowing two runs on one hit in 1.2 innings pitched, with one walk and one strikeout. Through two starts in 2022, he has gone 0-1 with a 5.68 ERA (6.1 IP, 4 ER), three walks, five strikeouts and a .208 (5-for-24) opponent batting average.

To replace Gray on the 28-man roster, the Twins have returned right-handed pitcher Cody Stashak from his rehab assignment and reinstated him from the 10-day Injured List. Stashak, who missed the Twins’ first eight games with right biceps tendinitis, made one rehab appearance with Low-A Fort Myers on Thursday against Jupiter, pitching 1.0 scoreless inning with two strikeouts.
