Twins place Miguel Sanó on paternity list

Edgar García recalled from Triple-A St. Paul

 

NEW YORK, NY – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed infielder Miguel Sanó on the Paternity List, after the birth of his daughter Danea on Thursday morning in Minneapolis.

 

Sanó has played in 98 games for the Twins this season, hitting .217 (73-for-337) with 18 doubles, 21 home runs, 53 RBI, 51 runs scored, 44 walks, a .308 on-base percentage and a .765 OPS.

 

To replace Sanó on the 26-man roster, the Twins have recalled right-handed pitcher Edgar García from Triple-A St. Paul. García, who was optioned to St. Paul yesterday, has appeared in four games for the Twins this season, allowing four runs on three hits in 7.0 innings pitched, with four walks and six strikeouts.

 

Additionally, right-handed pitcher Nick Vincent has cleared waivers and will be assigned to Triple-A St. Paul. He was designated for release or assignment on Wednesday when the Twins recalled left-handed pitcher Lewis Thorpe.
