Matt Wallner recalled from Triple-A St. Paul
OAKLAND, CA – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed infielder Jose Miranda on the 10-day Injured List (retroactive to July 12) with right shoulder impingement.
Miranda, 25, hit .211 (30-for-142) with four doubles, three home runs, 13 RBI, nine walks and 12 runs scored in 40 games across two stints with the Twins this season.
To replace Miranda on the 26-man roster, the Twins have recalled outfielder Matt Wallner from Triple-A St. Paul. The 25-year-old has hit .308 (44-for-143) with 11 doubles, two triples, seven home runs, 31 RBI, 20 walks and 34 runs scored in 36 games for the Saints since May 30. This is Wallner’s third stint with Minnesota this season, after previously being with the club from April 8-15 and May 23-29.
