Gilberto Celestino recalled from Triple-A St. Paul
SAN DIEGO, CA – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed infielder Gio Urshela on the Paternity List.
Urshela has hit .265 (78-for-294) with 17 doubles, one triple, nine home runs, 42 RBI, 22 walks, 36 runs scored and a .733 OPS in 86 games for the Twins this season. He and his wife are expecting the arrival of a baby girl.
To replace Urshela on the 26-man roster, the Twins have recalled outfielder Gilberto Celestino from Triple-A St. Paul. Celestino, who was optioned to St. Paul on July 26, has hit .268 (41-for-153) with seven doubles, one triple, eight RBI, 12 walks and 17 runs scored in 66 games for Minnesota this season.
