The Toronto Blue Jays have claimed C Tyler Heineman off waivers from the Boston Red Sox.

Additionally, C Brian Serven has been designated for assignment.

Heineman, 33, has appeared in two games with Boston this season, spending the majority of the campaign at Triple-A Worcester, where he batted .252 with 11 extra-base hits, 26 RBI, a .379 OBP, a 16.1% strikeout rate, and a 14.1% walk rate. The 5-10, 190 lb. catcher rejoins the Blue Jays, having played in a combined 29 Major League games for the organization between 2022 and 2023. The Pacific Palisades, CA, native has played in a total of 106 MLB games between the Marlins, Giants, Blue Jays, Pirates, and Red Sox, batting .216 with 13 extra-base hits and 15 RBI.
