  • Left-handed pitcher Jacob Latz has been recalled from Triple-A Round Rock.
  • Right-handed pitcher Marc Church has been optioned to Triple-A Round Rock.

Latz, who turned 29 on April 8, has posted a 0-2 record with a 3.12 ERA (3 ER/8.2 IP) and 14 strikeouts against 8 walks over five appearances (one start) with Round Rock this season. His most recent outing came in Sunday’s win over Oklahoma City, where he tossed 2.2 scoreless innings, allowing three hits, and striking out four.

After appearing in just one Cactus League game this spring, Latz was optioned to minor league camp on March 9, dealing with mid-back tightness following his first live BP session in February.

In 2024, Latz logged a career-high 46 appearances for Texas, the most by a Rangers left-hander and fourth overall among team pitchers. Over three Major League seasons with Texas (2021, 2023-24), he holds a 2-4 record and 3.46 ERA (21 ER/54.2 IP) in 50 appearances (one start). Latz was drafted by Texas in the 5th round of the 2017 MLB Draft out of Kent State University.

Church, 24, has posted a 3.86 ERA (2 ER/4.2 IP) with six walks and five strikeouts over five relief outings for Texas this season. His latest appearance came in Friday’s 5-3 loss to Seattle, where he pitched one inning, allowing one hit with one strikeout.

The Atlanta native earned his first career Opening Day roster spot in 2025 after a strong showing in Cactus League play, recording a 4.15 ERA (4 ER/8.2 IP) with 12 strikeouts against two walks in eight appearances. He made his MLB debut on September 28, 2024, against the Angels, and has pitched 6 Major League games (all with Texas), posting a 3.18 ERA (2 ER/5.2 IP).

Over four minor league seasons, Church owns a 16-11 record, 4.01 ERA (73 ER/164.0 IP), and 235 strikeouts against 70 walks in 119 career games (two starts). He was selected by Texas in the 18th round of the 2019 MLB Draft from North Atlanta High School.

Following these transactions, the Rangers remain at the 40-man roster limit, with three players (Cody Bradford, Jon Gray, Josh Sborz) on the 60-day Injured List.
