The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that Tampa Bay Rays Minor League pitcher Israel Mateo, who is currently on the roster of the rookie-level Florida Complex League Rays, has received a 55-game suspension without pay after testing positive for Boldenone, a performance-enhancing substance in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. The suspension of Mateo will be effective at the start of the 2023 FCL season.
