Tampa Bay Lightning Re-assign Forward Gage Goncalves to AHL Syracuse

TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Lightning have re-assigned forward Gage Goncalves to the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League (AHL), vice president and general manager Julien BriseBois announced today.

Gage Goncalves, 23, has appeared in 26 games with the Lightning this season, recording one goal and two points while averaging 11:45 of ice time per game. The native of Mission, British Columbia, logged his first career NHL point with an assist on November 21 at Columbus and scored his first career goal on December 19 versus St. Louis.

Goncalves has played 217 career regular-season games with the Crunch, registering 43 goals and 151 points, including seven game-winning goals. The 6-foot-1, 184-pound forward was originally drafted by Tampa Bay in the second round, 62nd overall, of the 2020 NHL Draft.

Fans of the Lightning will be watching Goncalves’ progress in the AHL with interest as he continues to develop his skills with the Syracuse Crunch.
