TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Lightning announced today that defenseman Declan Carlile has been re-assigned to the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League (AHL), according to vice president and general manager Julien BriseBois.

Carlile, 24, has played in three games with the Lightning this season, averaging 13 minutes of ice time and recording a plus-2 rating with three shots on goal. The Hartland, Michigan native made his season debut with Tampa Bay on December 14 in Seattle, where he scored his first career NHL goal, logged 11:10 of ice time, and blocked two shots.

This season, Carlile has skated in 36 games with Syracuse, tallying three goals and seven points, along with 37 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-3, 192-pound defenseman leads all Crunch blueliners with 67 shots on goal, and his three power-play points rank third on the team. Over his career, Carlile has played in 176 AHL games, all with Syracuse, recording 19 goals and 61 points, including four game-winning goals and a plus-37 rating.

Carlile was originally signed by Tampa Bay as a free agent on March 16, 2022, and made his NHL debut on January 24, 2024, against Minnesota.
