HOUSTON – The Houston Dash today announced that the team will have six players join their respective national teams during the upcoming April FIFA International Window as select national teams prepare for the upcoming 2023 FIFA World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
Midfielder Sophie Schmidt and defender Allysha Champan will join the Canadian Women’s National Team for a friendly against France on Tuesday, April 11 at MMArena in Le Mans, France.
Forwards María Sánchez and Diana Ordóñez will join El Tri to kick off the inaugural MexTour W against the Chicago Red Stars on Saturday, April 8 at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Illinois and against the Houston Dash on Tuesday, April 11 at Shell Energy Stadium in Houston, Texas.
Forward Michelle Alozie will join the Super Falcons for a pair of friendlies against Haiti on Friday, April 7 and against 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup co-host New Zealand on Tuesday, April 11 at Mardan Sports Complex in Antalya, Turkey.
Midfielder Havana Solaun has been called up by the Reggae Girlz and will join the Jamaican Women’s National Team for a friendly to be announced at a later date.
The Dash returns to Shell Energy Stadium for the first match of the NWSL Challenge Cup on Wednesday, April 19 against Kansas City Current at 7:00pm CT.
