Club Options Right-Handed Pitcher Kyle Barraclough to Worcester
BOSTON, MA – The Boston Red Sox today recalled left-handed pitcher Joe Jacques from Triple-A Worcester. To make room on the active roster, the club optioned right-handed pitcher Kyle Barraclough to Worcester following last night’s game against the Houston Astros.

Jacques, 28, has made 17 appearances (one start) with the Red Sox this season, his Major League debut, recording a 5.85 ERA (13 ER/20.0 IP). The left-hander has also posted a 2.83 ERA (11 ER/35.0 IP) in 30 games (one start) for Worcester during 2023. Originally selected by Pittsburgh in the 33rd round of the 2018 First-Year Player Draft out of Manhattan College, the New Jersey native was acquired by the Red Sox in the Triple-A phase of the 2022 Rule 5 Draft.
Barraclough, 33, tossed 4.1 innings last night against the Astros, his third outing for the Red Sox this season. The right-hander is also 8-0 with a 2.43 ERA (15 ER/55.2 IP) in 10 games (nine starts) with Worcester. Signed by Boston in June, the California native owns a 3.86 ERA (121 ER/282.0 IP) in 291 career Major League games with the Miami Marlins (2015-18), Washington Nationals (2019), San Francisco Giants (2019), Minnesota Twins (2021), Los Angeles Angels (2022), and Red Sox (2023).
