Club Recalls Right-Handed Pitcher Connor Seabold from Triple-A Worcester

BOSTON, MA – The Boston Red Sox today placed right-handed pitcher Michael Wacha on the 15-day Injured List with right shoulder inflammation, retroactive to July 5. To fill Wacha’s spot on the active roster, the club recalled right-handed pitcher Connor Seabold from Triple-A Worcester.

Chief Baseball Officer Chaim Bloom made the announcement.

Wacha, 31, last pitched on June 28 against the Toronto Blue Jays, allowing four runs over 5.0 innings. The right-hander leads Red Sox starting pitchers with a 2.69 ERA (21 ER/70.1 IP) and ranks second on the team in wins, going 6-1 over 13 starts for Boston this season.
