BOSTON, MA—The Boston Red Sox today claimed outfielder Jaylin Davis off waivers from the San Francisco Giants and optioned him to Triple-A Worcester.
Chief Baseball Officer Chaim Bloom made the announcement.
Davis, 27, has played 10 games for Triple-A Sacramento this season, batting .295 (13-for-44) with five extra-base hits, seven RBI, and three stolen bases. The right-handed hitter played 26 major league games with the Giants from 2019-21, making 17 starts in right field and one in left field. Originally selected by the Minnesota Twins in the 24th round of the 2015 MLB Draft out of Appalachian State University, the Greensboro, NC native has hit .271 (492-for-1,817) with 90 home runs and 295 RBI in 488 career minor league games.
