BOSTON, MA – The Boston Red Sox today announced the following roster moves:
- Placed right-handed pitcher Connor Seabold on the 15-Day Injured list with a right forearm extensor strain.
- Placed infielder/outfielder Christian Arroyo on the 10-Day Injured List with a left groin strain.
- Selected right-handed pitcher Kaleb Ort to the active Major League roster from Triple-A Worcester.
- Recalled infielder Jeter Downs and right-handed pitcher Phillips Valdez from Worcester.
- Designated right-handed pitcher Michael Feliz for assignment.

Seabold, 26, started last night’s game against the New York Yankees and was removed in the third inning. The right-hander is 0-2 with an 11.91 ERA (15 ER/11.1 IP) in three starts for Boston this season, as well as 5-1 with a 2.09 ERA (12 ER/51.2 IP) in 11 starts for Worcester.
Arroyo, 27, started in right field yesterday and went 1-for-4, also playing third base. The right-handed hitter is batting .333 (6-for-18) with a double in his last five games. This season, Arroyo has hit .224 (26-for-116) with four home runs and 13 RBI while appearing in 17 games in right field, 11 at shortstop, seven at second base, four at third base, and two at first base.
Ort, 30, has posted a 3.12 ERA (12 ER/34.2 IP) in 33 relief appearances for Worcester this season. The right-hander is tied for the Triple-A lead in saves (15-for-17), ranking tied for second in Minor League Baseball. Ort made his Major League debut last season with Boston, recording one out in relief on September 13 against the Seattle Mariners.
Downs, 23, made his Major League debut for the Red Sox on June 22 against the Detroit Tigers, starting at third base and going 0-for-4. In 14 games with Worcester since returning to the club, he has hit .370 (17-for-46) with five home runs, a .500 on-base percentage, and a .783 slugging percentage, having homered in each of his last three games for the WooSox.
Valdez, 30, has posted a 5.40 ERA (8 ER/13.1 IP) in 11 appearances for Boston this season. The right-hander also has a 3.68 ERA (6 ER/14.2 IP) in 12 appearances for Worcester, most recently throwing 2.0 scoreless innings against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on July 4.
Feliz, 29, appeared in last night’s game against the New York Yankees, allowing one run in 3.1 relief innings during his season debut. The right-hander is 0-1 with a 3.28 ERA (9 ER/24.2 IP) in 18 appearances (three starts) for Worcester this season.
