Dunning is the Texas starting pitcher for Tuesday night’s game in Seattle

Seattle, Wash. — The Texas Rangers today announced that the club has activated right-handed pitcher Dane Dunning from the 15-day Injured List and optioned left-handed pitcher Taylor Hearn to Triple-A Round Rock.

Dunning was on the 15-day Injured List from July 11-25 with a right ankle impingement, a span which included one start on injury rehabilitation assignment with the Arizona Complex League Rangers on Thursday vs. ACL Padres (ND, 5.0 IP, 3 H, 2 R-ER, 1 BB, 9 SO, 1 HR). He has gone 1-6 with a 4.42 ERA over 18 games/starts for the Rangers this season, with his last start coming on July 10 vs. Minnesota. Dunning ranks among staff leaders in starts (2nd, 18), innings (T2nd, 95.2), and strikeouts (3rd, 84).

Hearn has gone 4-6 with a 5.50 ERA over 16 games/13 starts spanning two stints with the Rangers this season: Opening Day-June 25 and July 15-25. He also has a 1-0 record and 4.50 ERA over 2 games/starts for Round Rock in 2022.

Following today’s transactions, the Rangers remain at the 40-man limit on the club’s Major League roster, along with two players (Mitch Garver and Eli White) on the 60-day Injured List.
