MLS Preview: Orlando City SC (5-4-2) at Toronto FC (3-6-2)

Orlando City is unbeaten in four straight meetings with Toronto (W2 D2). Prior to the last four games, the sides had met 11 times in MLS, with Orlando avoiding defeat only three times (W2 D1 L8).

Toronto FC has lost four straight games, its third losing streak of at least four games since the start of last season. Prior to last season, Toronto hadn’t had a losing streak of four or more games since early 2015.

Orlando City, coming off a 4-1 loss at CF Montréal on Saturday, has not lost consecutive matches since a run of four straight defeats in September 2021. Orlando has responded to its last four defeats with a win in its next match.

Toronto was agonizingly close to its first clean sheet of the season, losing on a 90th-minute goal on Saturday in Vancouver. Toronto has now allowed a goal in 40 of the 41 MLS matches its played over the last 12 months, including the last 19 matches in a row.

João Moutinho’s goal against Montreal on Saturday was his second goal in his last six MLS games, having also scored against LAFC on April 2. Moutinho had scored just once in his first 63 regular season appearances in the league.
