CF Montréal is unbeaten in six straight visits to Orlando (W4 D2) dating back to October 2016, the club’s longest road unbeaten run against a single opponent in its MLS history while it’s also Orlando’s longest home winless run against any team in the regular season in club history.
Orlando City earned a second consecutive playoff berth in 2021 on the back of its home form, losing just two of 17 matches at Exploria Stadium (W8 D7), including just one of the last 11 at home. That lone loss came at the hands of CF Montréal, a 4-2 defeat on September 15.
CF Montréal struggled away from home last season, winning just three times on its travels, including just one of its last 12 away games (D5 L6). That lone win was a 4-2 victory at Orlando in September, the only match in that run in which they scored more than one goal.
Eight of Orlando City’s final 27 regular season goals were scored by defenders, as Ruan, Antônio Carlos and Robin Jansson scored multiple times in that span. Prior to that, only one of the Lions’ previous 110 regular season goals was scored by a defender dating back to September 2018.
CF Montréal added veteran striker Kei Kamara in the offseason. Kamara joins Montreal after having scored 13 times against them in MLS play throughout his career. The 13 goals equal the most by any player against a single team since Montreal joined MLS in 2011.
