The Galaxy have never lost at home against Los Angeles FC (W4 D2), though the last meeting at Dignity Health Sports Park ended in a 1-1 draw. The 0.33 points per match LAFC has earned in road games against the Galaxy is its lowest on the road against any team it visited more than twice.
The Galaxy have won only two of their last 10 home matches (D5 L3) dating back to early August. Those two wins, however, came against last season’s MLS Cup Finalists Portland (2-1 in October 2021) and New York City FC (1-0 on February 27).
Los Angeles FC has 13 points through five matches, equaling the best start in club history, including winning its last three matches. LAFC hasn’t had a longer winning streak since a run of five straight wins since a five-game run in July-August of its then-record setting 2019 campaign.
Mexican stars Chicharito and Carlos Vela could square off in the same match for the first time in their MLS careers. The two were last on the field at the same time in a club match in the 2013 Europa League with Vela’s Real Sociedad and Chicharito’s Manchester United playing in the group stage in October/November.
Carlos Vela has scored 10 goals against the Galaxy in MLS play, tied for the most by one player against any team since Vela debuted in the league in 2018 (R. Ruidíaz vs. Portland). Only six players have ever scored more goals against the Galaxy in MLS (including playoffs) than Vela.
