Atlanta United has won its last two home matches against Miami, both in 2021, after failing to win either of the first two (D1 L1). The Five Stripes have held the lead for only 29 of the 360 minutes in those four matches, with both winning goals coming in the final 20 minutes.
Atlanta United, winners of one of its last eight MLS matches (D3 L4), saw its 13-match home unbeaten run (W8 D5) come to an end in its last match, a 2–1 defeat to Columbus on May 28.
Inter Miami won its last two matches heading into the international break, but both of those were at home. Miami has struggled away from home, losing nine of its last 12 road matches (W2 D1). The Herons took a point in their last away match (0–0 at Phi) but haven’t gone unbeaten in consecutive road games since wins over Cincinnati and Toronto in September.
Atlanta has faced a lot of injury problems this season, and that has led to little consistency in its lineups. Only five Atlanta United players have started at least 10 games this season, with only Seattle (4) featuring fewer players with double-digit starts.
Drake Callender is second in MLS in save percentage, stopping 80.0 percent of the shots he’s faced. Callender has been plenty busy as well, saving 4.7 shots per 90 minutes, the most of any goalkeeper this year (min. 450 minutes played for both stats).
