Houston is unbeaten in four straight matches against Orlando City (W2 D2) after the Lions won the first-ever meeting between the sides, 1-0, in 2015. Both meetings in Orlando have finished scoreless.
Orlando City is winless in three straight games (D2 L1) for the first time this season after a 1-1 draw at New England on Wednesday. The Lions have had only two longer winless runs since the start of last season, going five in a row without winning last September (D1 L4) and four straight in October (D3 L1).
The Dynamo have won only seven of their 67 away matches since the start of the 2018 season (D14 L46). Houston scored at least three goals in all seven of those games, all wins, while its scored two goals or fewer in the other 60 games in that time, winning none of them.
Robin Jansson scored his first goal of the season on Wednesday, netting the equalizer in Orlando’s 1-1 draw with New England. That was the seventh goal scored by an Orlando City defender this season, tied with LAFC and CF Montréal for the most goals by defenders in the league in 2022.
Only 23.2 percent of Houston’s passes in the 2022 MLS season have been made in the attacking third, the lowest percentage in MLS. The Dynamo have averaged just 16.1 touches in the opponent’s box per match this season, also fewest in the league.
