CF Montréal’s 2-1 defeat to Real Salt Lake on Sunday was the second time its lost after taking a lead at home this season (also vs. Philadelphia on March 5). The only other team to lose multiple home matches in which it led this season is FC Cincinnati.
FC Cincinnati’s club record four-match winning streak came to an end on Saturday with a 3-2 home defeat against New England. Cincinnati has won three straight on the road, the second time its won three straight away from home, though the first streak included two wins against Canadian teams in the United States.
Djordje Mihailovic scored after 42 seconds on Sunday, less than two months after scoring in 59 seconds against Vancouver. Mihailovic is the sixth player in MLS history to score in the first minute multiple times and the fourth to do so in a single season (S. Rammel 1996, A. Cruz 2019, T. Akindele 2021).
Luciano Acosta recorded two assists in Cincinnati’s loss to New England, extending his club record run of games with a goal contribution to six. Acosta has been involved in nine of Cincinnati’s last 11 goals (5 goals, 3 assists) over that span.
