D.C. United has won all three of its matches against Inter Miami, including winning the two meetings last season by a combined score of 4-0. D.C. is one of two teams Miami has faced more than twice and never taken a point against (P4 L4 vs. NYCFC).

Only one of Inter Miami’s last 24 MLS matches has ended in a draw (W9 L14), a scoreless match with Chicago to open this season. Half of those matches were decided by one-goal margins, with Miami winning seven of those and losing five.

Only two of D.C. United’s last 27 MLS matches have ended in draws (W12 L13), including none of the last 14 (W6 L8). D.C. has had only two longer runs of regular season games without drawing post-shootout (since 2000): 15 straight in 2012 and 22 straight in 2000-01.

Playing from behind has become the norm for Miami this season as they’ve trailed at some point in eight of their 10 matches. In fact, the Herons have only opened the scoring once all season, scoring the only goal of the match in a win over Seattle in April.

Taxi Fountas scored both goals in D.C.’s win over Houston on Saturday, his second brace in three games. In fact, since Fountas debuted in the second half of D.C.’s match against Austin on April 16, he has been involved in all five goals United has scored (4 goals, 1 assist).
