This will be the first meeting between CF Montréal and Austin FC. Austin has made just one previous trip to Canada, losing, 2-1, at Vancouver last September.
CF Montréal has collected 23 points from its first 14 games this season, its second-most at this stage of an MLS season (29 in 2013). Montreal has scored 28 times and conceded 26, the sixth team in MLS history to score and concede at least 26 times in the first 14 matches of a season.
Austin FC has won just one of its last five MLS matches (D1 L3), including a 4-1 defeat to the Galaxy in their last match. Austin has allowed 10 goals in those five matches after allowing less than one per match (8) in their first nine games of the season.
Romell Quioto scored two of CF Montréal’s four goals in the 4-3 win over Cincinnati on May 28, his second brace in 127 career MLS matches (incl. playoffs). Since joining Montreal in 2020, Quioto has scored 22 times, twice as many as goals as any other player on the team in that span.
Diego Fagúndez has scored six career goals and recorded six career assists against CF Montréal, both his most against any opponent in his MLS career. Only one of those goals, however, was scored in Montreal (12 games).
