Pittsburgh Pirates make two roster related player transactions

The Pittsburgh Pirates today recalled left-handed pitcher Jose Hernandez from Triple-A Indianapolis.

Outfielder Jack Suwinski has been optioned to Triple-A to make room for Hernandez on the 26-man active roster.

The 26-year-old Hernandez has gone 1-0 with a 1.93 ERA (4.2ip/1er) in six appearances during his previous two stints (March 28-31 and April 7-17) with Pittsburgh in 2024.

Hernandez also struck out 19 batters in 13.0 innings while recording a 7.62 ERA (13.0ip/11er) in his 12 outings this season with Indianapolis.
