OAKLAND, Calif. — The Oakland A’s selected outfielder Daz Cameron from Triple-A Las Vegas and placed outfielder Esteury Ruiz on the 10-day injured list with a strained left wrist, the club announced today. To clear a spot on the 40-man roster, the A’s designated infielder Jordan Diaz for assignment.

Cameron was batting .307 with 15 doubles, two triples, six home runs, 27 RBI and a 1.001 OPS in 41 games with Las Vegas. He is tied for third in the Pacific Coast League in doubles (15), ranks fourth in on-base percentage (.424), sixth in OPS, tied for sixth in extra base hits (23), eighth in slugging percentage (.577) and tied for 10th in walks (27). The 27-year-old right-handed hitter was signed by Oakland to a minor league contract on Nov. 21, 2023 and was a non-roster invitee this spring. Cameron made his Major League debut with Detroit in 2020 and played in 73 games over three seasons with the Tigers from 2020-22.

Ruiz is hitting .200 with two home runs, eight RBI and five stolen bases in 29 games over two stints with the A’s. He was batting.168 in 25 games since he was recalled on April 15. Diaz has spent the entire season at Las Vegas and is hitting .204 with two home runs, 10 RBI and a .615 OPS in 29 games. He played in 105 games with the A’s over the previous two seasons and is a .227 career hitter with 10 home runs and 28 RBI.
