RHP Beau Sulser has been optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis and LHP Cam Alldred is expected to be selected from Indianapolis.
The 25-year-old Alldred was a non-roster invitee with the Pirates this past spring and does not have any Major League experience.
In eight games (one start) with Indianapolis this season, Alldred has gone 1-1 with a 1.53 ERA (17.2ip/12h/3r/3er/3bb/15so). He pitched 3.2 scoreless innings in his season debut on 4/8 vs. Omaha before suffering a loss in his second outing on 4/16 at St. Paul (1.2ip/3er). Alldred made his first professional start on 4/23 vs. Columbus and hurled 4.0 scoreless innings. He picked up his first Triple-A win on 4/29 at Iowa after tossing 2.1 scoreless innings.
Alldred made his last appearance on 5/8 vs. Louisville and extended his consecutive scoreless innings streak to 12.1 innings, dating back to 4/20.
In his eight appearances with Indianapolis, he has held left-handed batters to one hit in 24 at bats.
Alldred will be wearing uniform #63.
To make room on the 40-man roster for Alldred, catcher Roberto Perez will be transferred to the 60-day injured list.
