Phillies place Josh Harrison on 10-day injured list

The Phillies have placed infielder Josh Harrison on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to July 9) with a right wrist contusion. A corresponding move to fill his spot on the 26-man roster will be made prior to Friday’s game against the San Diego Padres.

Phillies President of Baseball Operations David Dombrowski made the announcement.

Harrison, 36, has hit .219 (21-96) with three doubles, two home runs, 10 RBI and scored eight runs over 39 games for the Phillies this season. Defensively, he has appeared at five different positions: 15 games at third base, 10 games at second base, six games in left field, two games in right field, and twice as a pitcher, working 1.2 innings.

Additionally, right-handed pitcher Noah Song, currently on the 60-day injured list with a low back strain, had his rehab assignment transferred from single-A Clearwater to double-A Reading.
