OTTAWA — The Ottawa REDBLACKS announced on Thursday the signings of American receivers Sam Schnee and Je’Quan Burton.

Before joining the Tennessee Titans for their 2024 training camp, Schnee played six seasons at Northern Iowa, where his production improved every year. His standout 2023 season included 57 catches for 1,039 yards and six touchdowns in 11 games, leading his team in all three categories.

Schnee’s impressive performance earned him First Team All-MVFC honors, an ADCA FCS All-Second Team nod, and a spot on the Phil Steele All-American Third Team. Over 48 career FCS games, Schnee accumulated 2,232 yards and 14 touchdowns on 139 receptions.

Burton spent time with the Miami Dolphins ahead of the 2024 season, following three productive years at FAU. The West Orlando native made 24 catches for 277 yards and two touchdowns in his final collegiate season, starting 11 out of 12 games.

Burton’s most productive season came in 2022, when he recorded 517 yards on 33 catches and four touchdowns in 11 games. During his three seasons with Florida Atlantic, Burton appeared in 35 games, totaling 1,277 yards and nine touchdowns on 84 catches. He also played for Southern Illinois from 2018 to 2019, accumulating 190 yards and one touchdown on 14 catches across 16 games.
